MoveOn.org Political Action sponsors many far left initiatives. One of the most recent examples was its nationwide advertisement urging a boycott of Target Corporation because Target contributed to an organization with which it disagrees. Once again, MoveOn.org is using its massive funding base to push the ideology of its leaders and members onto the rest of the nation.
I am not in favor of boycotts and have never participated in one. However, the time seems right to change that. Boycotts run both ways and there are more conservatives in this country than liberals. Therefore, I am proposing a boycott by conservatives of any for-profit or non-profit organization which has contributed in any way to MoveOn.org. Such contributions include both cash and in-kind donations.
We are all aware that George Soros is a major contributor to MoveOn. There is little that we can do to boycott him, since he doesn’t do anything except make money within the financial system that he seems to despise. Other contributors to MoveOn are more likely targets, since they depend on real people to buy their products. The first of those is Progressive Corp. (remember the Progressive commercials with “Flo”?) According to Wikipedia, Progressive CEO Peter B. Lewis has contributed a large sum of money to MoveOn.
A third major contributor after Soros and Progressive, according to Wikipedia, is Linda Pritzker of the Hyatt Hotel family.
One last for-profit organization that I suggest we boycott: The New York Times. Apparently, that newspaper gave a special advertising rate to MoveOn in an ad that questioned the personal integrity of General Petraeus before the Times was caught in its deceit.
Finally, there are many non-profits in the Twin Cities and around the country which lend in-kind support to MoveOn.
I, for one, will not do business with Progressive Insurance or Hyatt Hotels and will never purchase a New York Times newspaper until each organization denounces its contributions to MoveOn.org. I will also not do business with any non-profit which has contributed in-kind donations to MoveOn.
I hope a few others will do the same.
