The Disaster That is Obamacare!

John S. Roberts (Young Conservatives, 3/26/15) wrote, “At this point everyone and their mother knows how bad government-run healthcare is to our economy. Now we know just how devastating the cost will be on each individual.”  The following information is from the DailyCaller via HotAir.

According to the Congressional Budget Office, “It will cost the federal government – taxpayers, that is – $50,000 for every person who gets health insurance under the Obamacare law.

“The number comes from figures buried in a 15-page section of the nonpartisan organization’s new ten-year budget outlook.  The best-case scenario described by the CBO would result in ‘between 24 million and 27 million’ fewer Americans being uninsured in 2025, compared to the year before the Affordable Care Act took effect.

Pulling that off will cost Uncle Sam about $1.35 trillion – or $50,000 per head.

“The plan is covering 27 million people with estimates of that growing by 25% over the next decade. A mid-range quality health care plan through most employers – including the employer contribution – can be had for roughly $5,400 per year.

“Way to go, liberals! This is what happens when we pass a bill without knowing what’s in it.  Ignorance truly is bliss.”

Whether purposeful or oblivious ignorance, the result is the same.  Instead of costing individuals $5,400 per year, the overall cost per individual will be $50,000.

What is even more ridiculous is that in many states, many of those “newly insured” already had access to health insurance.  They either didn’t want it (until the threat of a fine sank in) or they were too lazy or ignorant to get it.

So government has done its job.  It created a problem and ‘fixed it” at a cost of $1.35 trillion.  Way to go Washington!

About Doc

I am a Psychologist and a veteran of the Vietnam War. I work with abused children and with agencies which try to both prevent abuse and to empower those who have been abused. I feel strongly about child abuse and take every action I can to prevent it and to support the children I work with who have experienced it. I also feel strongly about politics and especially the course being taken by our nation. I believe that America is at a critical point in its development. How we answer the challenges from Islamic fascists and from our own internal enemies in the media, government, and academia will determine America’s future and the future of our children. I believe that if we don’t take the correct course now, America will go the way of Europe and that we will not reach the potential set out by our founding fathers. I believe that it is now getting serious. My gravitar is from "Darkman".
