Allen West has offered two quotes that are significant given that our President has just delivered one of the most clearly socialist State of the Union addresses in American history.
“Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.” Winston Churchill
“Property is the fruit of labor…property is desirable…is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let him not who is houseless pull down the house of another, but let him work diligently to build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built.” Abraham Lincoln
Our President would take from those who have worked to produce and save in order to ”redistribute wealth” to those who have done neither. Abraham Lincoln and Winston Churchill understood the value of capitalism and the fallacy of socialism. Unfortunately, due to lack of repetition in our homes, schools and media, their words are rapidly fading in the memories of many.
