Dianne Feinstein stated today that she released the Senate “torture report” because (to paraphrase) there must be many CIA workers who disagree with the way terrorists were treated. Awww, isn’t that nice. Her only desire was to make CIA workers feel better.
Feinstein also added that what was done in the name of enhanced interrogation (paraphrasing again) was something like torture and may have instilled fear. And where is the down side?
Dianne, you are a partisan fraud. In your last days as Senate Intelligence Committee chair, you released the report as one last attack on President Bush and one last slap in the face of American patriots who are trying to defend this country against morons like you.
As for her lie that she is trying to make CIA workers feel better, she probably should have asked them how they feel. As reported by the Washington Free Beacon (12/9/14), “Former CIA Director John McLaughlin said today that the Senate Intelligence Committee’s report is ‘flawed’ in its methodology, objecting to ‘cherry-picking’ information to make a case to fit Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s (D., Calif.) narrative.
“ ‘I think what they have done here is go through 6 million pages … and find the things that support the case they want to make’, McLaughlin told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell on Tuesday. ‘They never interviewed any of us who had anything to do with this program. I know the chairman cited transcripts, but they had an opportunity to talk to people who … ran the program. Many were not under investigation by the department. They passed that up. No serious reporter or historian would do that.’
“Furthermore, McLaughlin pointed out that the members of the committee ‘don’t know how analysis works’—a crucial understanding when determining whether or not the CIA’s interrogation techniques were effective and led to actionable intelligence.
“ ‘They will take a case and say all you learned from this detainee was a name of someone. It turns out that that’s what you need, that’s the piece of information that fits with something else that creates a picture and allows you to take down an operation,’ McLaughlin said.”
“NBC foreign correspondent Richard Engel said that Senate Democrats who released a report on CIA interrogation techniques on Tuesday were ‘scapegoating and rewriting history’ in an attempt to wash their hands of any involvement in approving CIA practices in the post-9/11 environment. (Washington Free Beacon, 12/9/14).
“So many people knew what was going on. This wasn’t a program that was over one or two weeks in a couple of dark sites,” Engel told MSNBC’s Ronan Farrow. ‘Everybody knew about it.’
“Engel said that some of those implicated told him that they were being used as scapegoats by … (Feinstein). The CIA was asked to do this; was given authorizations to do this. And now many people involved are saying to me privately, ‘Now we’re being held out to dry.’ ”
This is politics as usual on the left. Comrade Feinstein would throw her own mother under the bus for the “cause”. And her hatred of conservatives, even neocons like Bush, makes the ideological flame burn even brighter.
If Americans die as a result of Feinstein’s report, she should be held accountable. She and all members of the committee who contributed to the release should face indictment for treason with the appropriate consequence. Republicans and even RINOs need to stand strong on this and do their jobs as elected officials bound to defend the Constitution of the United States of America.
