This year’s Rolling Thunder Memorial Day ride just occurred. The ride consisted of a million bikers in support of POWs, MIAs and all veterans. The ride is self-organized (by word of mouth), self-run, self-regulated, and peaceful. Wait, you didn’t hear about it? I am not surprised.
Our current socialist government doesn’t like events that demonstrate the fact that empowered people don’t need a whole lot of government. Such events don’t play well when the government has a vested interest in keeping people in the role of “victim”.
The government also doesn’t like mention of POW’s and MIA’s since it has done little to bring them home. (Below, a man demonstrates life in a tiger cage in a North Vietnamese prison camp. And we fret about Guantanamo.)
Because a million bikers roaring through Washington demonstrates the exact opposite of “victim”, our socialist government will do anything possible to end it. Such a blatant display of “Americanism” cannot be tolerated by a government intent on entitling, depowering, and enslaving its people.
Last year, Obama’s National Park Service tried to block the ride, saying that because there was a Muslim event on the same day that it didn’t have the manpower for such a large event. Of course, a million bikers didn’t take such foolishness seriously. With some traffic control by local police and the self-governance of the ride’s organizing team, the ride went on without a hitch.
Given the failure of last year’s attempt by government to stop the ride, our little socialists decided to take a different tact this year. They ignored it. They apparently believed that by marginalizing the event, it would go away. Of course, the government’s public relations firm (the elite media) stuck well to its role, generally ignoring a million motorcycles in D.C. Hard to do, but they were up to the task in obedience to the leader of their new world order.
And THAT is the good news! Without government and media intervention, the ride apparently went on without a hitch.
Had this been an event supporting the entitled (rather than the empowered) and had it been sponsored by Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, or Harry Reid, I am certain that President Obama would have made a “proclamation”. I am equally certain that media coverage would have been over the top. With all that attention, the entitled could be pitied even more, weakened even further, and kept in their role as “victim”.
Too bad for them.
Hallelujah for the empowered bikers who once again turned Washington on its head!
